Ebonite Dust

Premium Raw Material

Ebonite dust of NEW-YORK HAMBURGER GUMMI-WAAREN COMPAGNIE AG is a natural raw material made on the basis of natural rubber, linseed oil and sulphur. It is manufactured by the unique friction grinding process.
The most accurate methods for raw material testing as well as non-stop monitoring and controlling of all process parameters guarantee the unique features of this material.
Cubic or lamellar grain structures ensure high resistance levels and good mechanical and acoustic cushioning levels.
Unlike contemporary globular grain structures, these cubic or lamellar grain structures allow high mechanical denticulation levels in the rubber matrix if ebonite dust is used as organic filler in rubber compounds.
The specifically defined content of free sulphur additionally results in chemical bonds that contribute to the highly homogenous structure of this material.

Applications

Ebonite dust is the ideal filler in rubber compounds for the manufacture of:

Properties

Ebonite dust highly enhances both the workability of hard or fluid rubber compounds and the properties of products of hard and soft rubber.
Advantages are:

Quality

The particle structure and the grain size distribution are decisive for the quality of the ebonite dust of YORK HAMBURGER GUMMI-WAAREN COMPAGNIE AG.
The grain size distribution (particle distribution) corresponds with the ideal Gaussian distribution with a minor variation in grain size (standard variation).

Safety note

Ebonite dust is not a hazardous substance as defined in the German Hazardous Substances Regulation. Please note, however, that explosive dust-air mixtures may be formed during processing.

1 Acetone extract: is used for determining the percentage of non-crosslinked sulphuric components in the matrix.

Processing

Ebonite dust is added to the rubber compound during blending. The ebonite dust percentage (mass percent) normally is in the range from 10 to 50%.

Packing standards

We deliver ebonite dust in standard paper bags of 30kg.
